BECCA'S SPEECH
Hi, my name is Becca Van Schoick and at some point in the near future. I
will be a resident of Kate's home. The move-in date has been pushed
back a bit, but my appreciation for this opportunity will never change.
This whole project, which so many people have worked on, opens up a window of
opportunity that would otherwise be closed to me. You have offered me a
chance to be independent, more self-reliant, and more like other people
my age. And I have an added bonus of living with my friend, Robin and not
with my parents anymore. As the saying goes, "when God closes a door,
he opens a window."
Before I roll away, I want to give some individual 'thank yours.' I
thank Lynn Robinette, whose "blood, sweat, toil, and tears" enabled
this to happen. And I thank all of the volunteers who devoted their
time and energy selflessly for us. Of the volunteer crowd, I only got
to meet a few of you previously, but shouts out to Amy, Larry, and of
course my parents, Nelda and Bob. Thanks everyone!
